Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
This Grade II-listed cottage in the quaint village of Marshfield caught our eye thanks to its excellent location and its Georgian personality. Given its age, you'll find plenty of character here – think steep stairs and low lintels, and the front rooms use shutters instead of curtains – but the traditional features only add to the charm. Outside, the garden is perfect if you're lucky with the weather – be it afternoon tea or cocktails, the alfresco area is the place to be. When it's time to explore, you've got the Cotswolds close by, along with both Bristol and Bath.

Home truths
Due to this home's age, there are a few features to be aware of, including steep stairs, low ceilings, rope bannisters and uneven paving stones. Although the housekeepers do all they can, there's also a slight chance you'll spot small insects inside, like a harmless woodlouse or two.
All of the bedrooms are located upstairs.
One infant is allowed, but you'll need to bring your own cot and high chair.
We recommend hiring a car here. There's free on-street parking nearby.
The phone signal and wi-fi can be patchy.
There’s a well and a pond on the grounds, but they’re covered for safety.
The flagstone flooring gets cold in the winter, so bring slippers.
The minimum age to rent this home is 25. No single-sex groups are allowed.
