Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
In a renovated 16th-century building in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, this stylish apartment is a great base for traversing the city. While it may not offer the most inspiring views, the balcony lets in fresh air and limited natural light in the daytime. You'll want to pack light as storage space in the bedroom is tight, but you'll get a good night's sleep before a busy day. With restaurants, shops, and landmarks easily reachable on foot or public transport, you won't get much more central than this.

Home truths
Parking in Barcelona can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible.
Your host can provide a cot and high chair for free if you're travelling with little ones.
This home is in an apartment building in a central spot, so there's a chance you may hear some noise from neighbours and from the street.
While the large bed makes for a great night's sleep, it does feel a little big for the room. Space is limited, so we'd recommend travelling light.
The balcony at this home is small and may not have enough space to sit out on. This home may not get much natural light due to the building's position against another building, and the views are just of the neighbouring building

About Gothic Quarter
Gothic Quarter is a true tourist hotspot, filled with shops and famous attractions on every corner. During the day, urban explorers fill its narrow, stone-paved streets, admiring the neo-Gothic sights – but it’s the night that sees the Quarter truly come to life. Home to some of the city’s most popular restaurants, bars, and quirky shops that stay open till late, the vibrant area is popular among young travellers and party-goers seeking the best Barcelona has to offer.
Explore the area

Visit the Cathedral of Barcelona
A picture perfect example of Gothic architecture and one of Barcelona's greatest sights. As beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.

Eat brunch outside at Brunch & Cake by The Sea
Everything at Brunch & Cake is made by hand, and their slogan is 'In grandmothers we trust!' There's lots of outdoor space, so it's the ideal spot for a coffee or snack in the sun.

Prepare to be amazed at Aquarium Barcelona
The 35 aquariums here are home to 11,000 animals, representing 450 species, and 5,000,000 litres of water!

Connect with your wild side at the zoo
Barcelona Zoo is located in the Parc de la Ciutadella. Probably most famous for having been home to Snowflake, the only known albino gorilla.

Experience a true Catalan tavern at La Xampanyeria
The speciality of La Xampanyeria is Cava – the house bottle won't break the bank, and you can accompany your sparkling wine selections with typical tapas. A must do in the city!

See the Columbus Monument
The Columbus Monument is an iconic monument to Christopher Columbus at the lower end of La Rambla.

Experience a Brunch with Latin vibe at The Benedict
The Benedict proposes one of the best brunch in Barcelona. Its speciality is, of course, Benedict eggs, but on the menu you will find lots of different dishes with Latin roots.

Discover the beauty of Santa Maria del Mar
This imposing basilica in the Ribera district was built at the height of Principality of Catalonia's maritime and mercantile preeminence – an outstanding example of Catalan Gothic architecture.

Choose your dinner at La Paradeta
The motto is: Sail away with us! This unique cross between a fish market and a restaurant, and it doesn't get much fresher than that. Come and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and great service.

Go for vermut and tapas at Bormuth
With a great atmosphere and a great selection of tapas, Bormuth is a great place to go for a drink and snack.

Listen to live music at Guzzo Club
Another popular bar with a great selection of tapas and drinks – but this time with a livelier atmosphere and often with local bands.

Enjoy Traditional Tapas at El Xampanyet
Cozy bar with a buzzing vibe offering traditional tapas, cava, and wine. Amazing food, friendly staff, and a great variety of dishes to choose from. Highly recommended for a taste of traditional Barcelona.
