A welcome retreat in the very middle of the city, this Lisbon apartment is a great find. It’s set above the fray, and while you’ll never find somewhere completely silent so centrally, the calm aura of the flat goes a long way to mitigate any noise that rises up from the street below. Of course, the incredibly comfortable beds don’t hurt either. The flat also has beautiful views across the city to Se Cathedral, and while the living room isn’t huge, the windows bring in enough natural light to make it feel bigger than it is. Step out into the streets and you'll soon discover you couldn't be better placed. Many of the Portuguese capital's headline sights are within a few hundred metres, including the vast Praça do Comércio and Sé. Thanks to its location, there's always a buzz in Baixa and you won't have to walk far to discover neighbourhood Ginjinha kiosks, swanky rooftop bars and mouthwatering restaurants.
