Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Although you’re surrounded by the rolling Tuscan hills here, it’s just a half-hour drive to Florence for all the art and culture you can handle in a day. Once you’ve had your fix of the bustling medieval streets and crowds of the Ufizzi, the peace of this villa is a delight. There’s an inviting swimming pool to cool off, and vast terraces overlooking the forest-clad hills perfect for meals outside. While the original tiled floors add a touch of grandeur and history, the high-ceilinged rooms can feel echoey (but remain delightfully cool in summer). Floral wallpaper and furniture handed down for generations won’t be to everyone’s taste, but this, alongside the hearth in the kitchen, add to that traditional Tuscan charm.

Although not a traditional tourist spot, it’s well connected to Florence on public transport, and the hillside villages Maiano and Fiesole are accessible by bus or a short drive. It also has a fair share of local restaurants where you're more likely to find local familes...
