This rustic Italian retreat looks out over a peaceful Umbrian valley, yet it’s only a short walk into the historic centre of Amelia for the local cheese shop, bars, bakeries and grocery shops. Covered outdoor lounges beneath rose-dappled pergolas and a summer kitchen embrace the bucolic life, while the modern swimming pool keeps things in the 21st century. Inside, it feels like the old world in the open kitchen, living and dining room with a working stone hearth for chilly evenings. Each bedroom has a set of French windows opening up to the first-floor or ground-floor terraces and one bedroom has its own entrance from the garden.

Home truths

While not all of the bedrooms and bathrooms are photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.

The swimming pool is only available for use between June and September.

The swimming pool isn't fenced. If you're bringing little ones, they'll need to be supervised at all times.

One of the bedrooms is in a separate annexe, accessed from the garden.

Guests have access to all areas of the home, apart from one additional bedroom which will be locked.

Security cameras are in operation outside this home.

While the village of Amelia is within walking distance, having a car is recommended. There is plenty of private parking at this villa.

About Umbria

Sometimes overshadowed by neighbouring Tuscany, Umbria has so much to offer in its own right. While its urban areas offer Medieval architecture, charming piazzas and excellent restaurants aplenty, it’s the countryside for which you really visit Umbria. The region...
