Only twenty minutes from the North Devon coastline, this contemporary home puts golfing and surfing opportunities within easy reach. Indoors, you'll find a bright interior and casual layout, plus a piano for musical guests. Albeit a bit overlooked, we think the lawn is a good bonus, but the lack of outdoor seating may have you packing a picnic blanket instead. Charming Instow offers a beach, though nature lovers will want to drive 45 minutes to the Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks.

The garden offers no seating and is somewhat overlooked by the terraced homes on either side. There's a chance you might see a neighbour or two through the window, so it doesn't feel completely private.
If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.
