With twelve square kilometres of rolling grounds, this secluded stone villa is excellent for couples or solo travellers seeking peace as well as indulgence. The home itself is small, with room inside for a studio combination of bedroom and kitchen plus a fully equipped bathroom. There's plenty of space for two guests to navigate, however – and once you've stepped out onto the terrace, with the private heated pool, outdoor dining area, and remarkable views of the Croatian mainland, any sense of feeling cramped will quickly disappear. For a day trip into civilisation, the town of Sutivan is a fifteen-minute walk away, with picturesque beaches en route.

• One well-behaved dog is welcome to join you for an additional €15 per day. The home is surrounded by a 90cm fence, which may not be suitable for larger or more energetic breeds.
