As the micro-neighbourhood of Chelsea Beach is nowhere near the coast, it might seem like an odd name. But we'd much rather be in this vibrant area of West London than a sandy coastline. You can't help but love its bustling array of bars, restaurants, and beautiful homes – the latter including this four-floor townhouse. As soon as you arrive, this striking Victorian building is sure to impress you. Entering through the front door from this leafy street, you’ll immediately be drawn to colourful features such as original artworks on the walls. Handsome period details, like a marble fireplace and claw-foot bathtub, blend neatly with the owners’ many arresting watercolours. With such high ceilings, the home feels incredibly spacious, with two entertainment-filled living areas and a jungle-like back garden. Wavy, paved pathways and stone urns make this feel like a Victorian pleasure garden (very fitting for the history of the home). And even more outdoor leisure activities await. Thirteen minutes away on foot, enjoy shopping on Chelsea's King’s Road. Or for culture, take a twenty-minute walk to South Kensington's museum quarter. The V&A and Natural History Museum are just as beautiful from the outside as the exhibitions within.

Your host doesn't recommend this home for infants or young children because of the glass tables – older children are welcome.

About Chelsea
In the 1960s, Chelsea's Kings Road was the stomping ground for the hippest young things in town. Nowadays, the area is more conservative in its reputation - you'll share the immaculate pavements with affluent business people from around the world and plenty of blow-dried ladies of leisure. It attracts this set for good reason - it's very central and the period houses that line the streets are charming. Sloane Square...
