Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
A modern and practical base in the vibrant and multicultural Lavapiés neighbourhood, this apartment offers a fuss-free stay on the doorstep of the Tabacalera cultural centre and Reina Sofía Museum. Some of Madrid’s most eclectic restaurants are on the doorstep, though your kitchenette is well-equipped for nights cooking at home. It’s worth noting there isn’t a lot of natural light here, but the decor is contemporary and has all the basics you could need for an easygoing stay.

Home truths
This host does not accept bookings from groups of young people.
Parking in Madrid can be tricky, so we recommend skipping the car here. This apartment is a short stroll from Lavapiés and Antón Martín metro stations.
Given the home's location, you may hear some street noise. Light sleepers may wish to pack earplugs.
It's located within an apartment building, with a shared entrance. Expect to bump into other guests during your stay.
While we love the overall design of this home, it is slightly lacking in natural light. This home was purpose-built for rentals, so it's not the most soulful space.

Local guide
About Lavapiés
Like many neighbourhoods on the rise, Lavapiés proudly displays its rough edges. The Times Magazine has recently included it in the 50 best neighbourhoods to live in the world, and it’s not hard to understand its appeal. It’s a melting pot of cultures, bravely experimenting with international influences. Lavapiés is full of contrast — some streets have already embraced a more luxurious vibe with chic boutiques and fusion restaurants popping up every month, while others are still filled with artistic squats and street vendors. It’s the ultimate antidote to boredom.
