In Tuscany’s UNESCO-protected Val d’Orcia, this former farmhouse is ensconced in verdant valleys, rolling hills and tumbling vineyards. The medieval town of Orvieto is an easy drive away, perfect for a day trip. It’s quiet and secluded, so you’ll definitely need a car to get around. The bonus is privacy around the swimming pool and the ability to hold conversations around the outdoor dining table long into the night. The villa dates back to the 18th century and still retains the old-fashioned feel of the time, with a few 21st-century conveniences for comfort.
