Located in a 19th-century Palazzo in the bustling Santa Croce neighbourhood, this apartment is a comfortable bolthole for families, friends or couples. While the place is modern, you’ll notice nods to the building’s history in the ceiling frescoes. There is a kitchen here, but we think it’s better suited for light meals. If you’d prefer something more substantial, there are restaurants on the doorstep. Plus, the famous Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio are a short walk away.

Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre. The largest crowds have thinned out by this point, but if you stay here, you're still close enough to explore the whole city on foot....
