Just an hour from London, this 17th-century farmhouse has all the trappings of country life while being close to the city. With 15 acres of farmland all around, days can be spent donning a pair of wellies and breathing in the fresh, country air. As soon as you enter you can feel the country charm with a herringbone brick floor and Belfast sink to wash your boots. A cosy, cottage-style living room has a wood-beamed ceiling and open brick hearth where a roaring fire can keep the room toasty. A second, more formal, living room still remains cosy with a wood-burning stove and sunken drinks cabinet in the coffee table. The kitchen, with its 5-door AGA and huge, farmhouse dining table is like something from a country lifestyle magazine. Glass doors open up to the terrace where a fire pit can keep the evening chill at bay, and there's a barbecue area for alfresco dining. In the main house, bathrooms come with roll-top baths, walk-in showers, and copper tubs. There are two additional bedrooms, done up cosy barn-style, in one of the outbuildings.
