The 1950s-style kitchen has a long breakfast bar and island, though the double fridge, cooker, and coffee maker are all firmly in the 21st century. Each bedroom has a geometrically-patterned feature wall, which we found to magnificently capture a retro vibe while keeping modern and cool. Outside, the yard is arranged resort-style, around the private pool with a built-in spa that's a total dream to relax in. By night, stargaze round the firepit after the sun sets, and fire up the grill for a poolside dinner. From here, it's less than a mile to the shops, galleries, and restaurants of the historic Palm Canyon Drive – but for days of fun in the sun, you never need leave your backyard.
