There’s a whimsical feel to this 17th Century barn conversion on the Skipton Hall Estate. With plenty of playful touches, from colourful pom poms hanging from the rafters to life-sized sculptures of livestock, it’s 5-star accommodation that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The focal point of the home is the expansive living room with its curious blend of timeless pieces, fire-engine red wood burner and arched windows, but our favourite room in the house is probably the grand dining room. With its chandeliers and mahogany ten-seater, it’ll take your evening meals to the next level. The splendour continues outside, with extensive lawned gardens and magnificent views. Let the younger guests run wild in the private grounds, while you sip rosé on the terrace. Despite your secluded location, there are plenty of options for lunching, with the local gastropub 5 minutes’ walk away and the Estate’s own restaurant offering a truly local dining experience. Evenings are just as magical, with a Swedish style wood hot tub and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows under the stars.

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
