This baronial manor, on the Kintyre Peninsula in Argyll, is a grand location for those seeking an escape in the Scottish highlands. Each room within the house has its own distinct personality and charm, along with plenty of period details. There is a bright and elegant living room with plush, pastel seating, and a second cosy sitting room with leather sofas and beautiful wood-panelled walls. The formal violet dining room seats 16 on an exquisite wooden table, where you can feast like kings before retiring to the conservatory room for a game of pool. For more laid-back evenings, there's the private bar where you can pull your own pints of real ale – just remember to ask the hosts to stock it before you arrive. There are seven acres of grounds to explore, complete with bright green lawns, a fountain and even a hot tub where you can soak under the stars.

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
