When you think of a Tuscan villa, chances are the image in your head matches up to this stunning home. It's a beautiful house, set in huge grounds and perched atop a hill, with views for miles in every direction. The traditional interiors and antique furniture create an air of authenticity that would easily persuade you that the home isn't fairly new (it was built by the previous owner, an international landscaper and interior designer). During the day, the heated pool is divine, surrounded by jasmine, statues, and an enormous, four-poster daybed. And while there's the possibility of eating alfresco or in a slightly more formal setting in the dining room, one of our favourite experiences is sitting around the fire in the kitchen, enjoying a glass of local Montepulciano as someone whips up a comforting plate of pasta. If you fancy exploring the area – San Casciano dei Bagni, a renowned spa village with thermal springs, is under two miles away, or simply go for a stroll in the glorious Tuscan countryside surrounding this villa.
