Tucked away on a quaint cobbled street in Bath's city centre, this stunning and spacious Georgian townhouse is packed full of historical charm. On entry, take a moment to glance at the framed documents in the hallway that detail the property's fascinating near 275-year history. Continue your way inside, and you'll find a capacious home that's decked out in primarily traditional English style but with vibrant velvet sofas in the living room and bold wall-mounted prints inject some fun into the space. There are plenty of gorgeous gilded trinkets lining the ample shelves that have made their way over from East and Southeast Asia. And with two lovely living rooms between six of you, it'll be easy to find a quiet corner to call your own. Step through into the kitchen and dining room, and you'll find a space that's equally adept at handling light breakfasts as formal family feasts. The bedrooms are an absolute standout feature of the home, each one as exquisite as the last, and each with its own en-suite bathroom, so there's no risk of anyone feeling put out after being lumped with the box room. If you make your way up to the rooftop terrace, you can get a great perspective of the neighbouring buildings, each of which has its own story and connection to one another. However, the best rooftop view in Bath is from the outdoor swimming pool at Thermae Bath Spa, which is a short five-minute walk from the house. Emerge feeling renewed before immersing yourself in the city's backstreets to discover stylish boutiques, enchanting book shops and inviting cafes.

Home truths

The tall nature of this Georgian townhouse means lots of stairs, which might be a challenge for some guests

You're within easy walking distance of all the sights, so we'd recommend against bringing a car as parking is expensive and not available nearby

The internet speed is slow – around 6Mbps when we tested – so it's not ideal for those hoping to get data-heavy work done

Storage space is minimal so we recommend packing light

Bedroom 2 has a zip & link mattress so it can be set up in either a double or twin configuration

Child-friendly amenities such as a cot and highchair are available

There is expensive artwork and ornaments in this home - children in stay should be supervised
