With its whitewashed, clapboard exterior, giant palm trees swaying in the garden and elegant, blue furnishings, this 1930s home screams laidback beach living - and that's before we've ever started on the ocean views. A block away from the sea and a short walk to La Jolla, inside this charming home you'll find a cosy, open-plan living/dining area with warm wooden floors and a wooden ceiling, plus a gorgeous bay window looking out across at the water. The master bedroom has one of those too, as well as elegant bedding and seriously comfortable bed. But it's the location that's the star of the show here. As well as the beach and La Jolla town, you're also within striking distance of the spectacular ecological reserve, La Jolla Cove. The water here is extraordinarily clear, and on a good day you can see more than 30km. So get your snorkel ready and dive on in.
