This hide-away home is tucked out of view at the bottom of a country lane. Set amongst an ancient forest, this spot is ideal for a rural family escape. The iconic New Forest Ponies are not far away. In fact, the owner is a collector and her gentle herd can be found by the front gate. Simple and slow living is at the heart of this property – an ethos that is reflected in the minimal interior. The furnishings here show that less is more; wooden furnishings are neatly paired with charming works of art. The sitting room is comfortable, with several sofas set up for evenings spent playing scrabble beside a roaring fire. The bedrooms are bright and spacious with rustic wooden floors. Outside, a stream meanders and trees grow perfect for climbing. Our favourite feature, however, is the Railway Carriage bedroom, only available in the Summer. There’s no electricity but you can warm yourself by the characterful stove.
