This seventeenth-century palace by Lake Orta delivers the ultimate five-star experience. It underwent a total refurbishment recently and while the original architecture has been restored, luxurious finishes and modern comforts have been introduced in all its spaces. Expect open fireplaces, coffered ceilings, incredible original art and designer furniture throughout. Every bedroom and its en-suite are of an equally high standard so all guests are guaranteed a memorable stay. Other highlights include the heated indoor pool and spa, the library and music room, and you can't possibly miss the wonderful views across the lake from the top floor. Like the rest of the home, its courtyard garden is super private – perfect for romantic candlelit dinners, and you'll also find daybeds for catching some rays. While staying in the palace, a trip to the Sacro Monte di Orta is a must – this remarkable site is perched high on a hill and is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
