Lighthouses have a romantic appeal, and that's certainly true at this Sicilian faro, perched on the edge of an ancient fishing village on the island's east coast. The villa is a great base for sightseeing, with essential cities of Catania, Noto and Syracuse all less than an hour's drive away. Whether you hire a car to explore coastal hot spots or rent the owner's private gozzo (traditional boat) is up to you. A wooden walkway leads directly to the water across the rocks so you can pad barefoot to the sea. While the building's exterior has plenty of historical wow factor, a recent renovation has provided plenty of modern comforts within. Chromotherapy shower, Smart TV, Bluetooth speakers and even a hot tub – it's all here. The kitchen is a modern vision of chrome and coffee-brown and the living room is an airy retreat from the Sicilian sun. Or, head up to the rooftop terrace and embrace the rays. Up here, you’ve got plenty of soft seating for the group to spread out and we love the jazzy tiled floor and lighthouse light rising up from the ground. This spot boasts particularly glorious views of Mt Etna, across the sparkling sea.

About Val di Noto

Encompassing the south-eastern third of Sicily, Val di Noto is one of the three historic regions of the island. Many of the region’s towns were destroyed during an earthquake in 1693, meaning that they were rebuilt in the Baroque style they have since become famous for. There are eight UNESCO-listed towns in Val di Noto, including Modica, Scicli and Catania, the second-largest city on Sicily. Although each town has its...

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
