If you’re coming to the Coachella Valley for the golfing, there’s hardly a better lace to stay than The Sand Wedge. It backs directly onto the Jack Nicklaus Private Course (one of the six that make up PGA West), and there are around 100 courses within a half-hour drive. Yes, you read that right. If golf isn’t your thing, there’s plenty else on the estate to keep your attention. The back garden is a little haven of calm, with a gently flowing pool and spa, and an outdoor living area, complete with fireplace. Even more impressive are the services that the host, Karen, can offer. She and her team go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, and can organise everything from limos and private chefs to golf cart rental and babysitting. It really puts the cherry on top of what was already a special home.
