Most waterfront homes in Southern California are on the coast, but La Laguna offers something a little bit different. It sits on the shores of Agua Hedionda, the inland lagoon in Carlsbad. Of course, the sea is nearby (about twenty minutes away on foot), but you have the opportunity to try all sorts of activities on the still waters right on your doorstep. As evening rolls in, the light glints off the lake, and creates the perfect setting for an evening in front of the grill, or around the fire pit. It’s also a convenient spot if you’re hoping to spend some time at Legoland. The theme park is only a five-minute drive away, just on the other side of the lagoon.
