Vetted by our experts

Neatly tucked away in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range in Squaw Valley, Broken Arrow Chalet is a splendid home with enough room to accommodate up to twelve guests. Combining the comforts of home with the luxuries of a hotel, this is a perfect escape for a large group of friends or an extended family gathering. Boasting modern cabin interiors, beamed ceilings, a state-of-the-art kitchen, shuffleboard and a wet bar, we couldn’t think of a better place to come back to after a long day skiing, hiking or swimming in the lake. Sit back and enjoy a great book in front of the fire, enjoy a hot drink on the deck or watch the snow fall around you from the jacuzzi – there are plenty of options for relaxation. Plus, you’re just a ten-minute drive from Lake Tahoe and all it has to offer.

Staying in North Tahoe

On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
