This stylish apartment sits right in the heart of Rome, less than a five-minute walk from the Colosseum. The host loves local art and this passion can be seen throughout the home. The furniture has been made by Italian craft companies and unique art pieces adorn the walls, including a number of different frescoes — the one in the place of a window in the living room is a reproduction of a similar piece found in the Villa of Livia. We love the bold wallpaper prints in the bedroom too, creating an artsy yet cosy spot to unwind in the evening. This is just one of the nods to Rome’s ancient history, alongside the framed plaster casts hanging on the walls. The windows look out onto an internal courtyard, which lends a peaceful air of seclusion to the living space. There's even a small closed balcony with hanging plants if you want a breath of fresh air with your morning coffee. Aside from the aforementioned amphitheatre, this address is also virtually next door to Parco del Colle Oppio – a large leafy space filled with ruins, as well as the lively Monti neighbourhood with its restaurants and alfresco café culture.
