It’s not often you find a renovation that has managed to restore original glory while adding modern touches tastefully - but this 1930s Maltese townhouse in Sliema has managed to achieve a perfect balance between original features and exciting gadgets. It’s particularly good for those with teens – or even other halves that can’t be parted from their tech-comforts – as there’s a media room with projector, 2m screen, Netflix and XBox; separate Smart TV and three Amazon Echos. But those who come on holiday just to get away from tech are acknowledged too - pull up a chair in the reading nook, seek out the private courtyard garden (complete with its own lemon tree) or bask on the roof terrace and feel the years melt away to a simpler time. If you can drag yourselves out, you’ll find the Sliema promenade, gardens and beach just 150 metres away. Bribe the kids away from those giant screens with the great playground, Italian ice cream shop and fantastic lido.
