Live as to the manor born at this grand Victorian house, built in the 1890s and owned by three generations of the same family. Accessed off a private drive, the house stands on a hill overlooking the glorious Devon countryside, surrounded by more than an acre of mature landscaped gardens. Imagine playing croquet or five-a-side football on the lawn and pondering on the bench beside the pond. And that's just the grounds. Inside, this grand home retains most of its original features, so there's a lot to explore. Fireplaces, parquet floors, high ceilings and bay windows are all here, along with a sweeping staircase and a fabulous collection of antiques. Cooks will adore the large kitchen and scullery, made cosy by the purr of the AGA, while there's a choice of reception rooms so everyone has room to spread out. Take scenic walks along the River Coly and visit nearby attractions like the beaches of Seaton and Beer, historic Lyme Regis and the market town of Axminster, famous for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cafe.
