Sitting at the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, this cottage is the perfect jumping-off point to explore everything that the nearby national park has to offer. With room for four guests, it's ideal for a family getaway. Of course, climbing the famous Snowdon has to be the main draw, but the hilly trails are also great for cycling, and calm lakes are perfect for stand-up paddleboarding. Thrill-seekers can be sure to get their kicks too at the world's fastest zipline, just 10 miles away. The surrounding village has a couple of cafes within a short stroll, where you can fuel your body each morning, while lakeside Llanberis is just 4 miles away – it's here that you'll find the start of the Snowdonia trail. Elsewhere the grand medieval town of Caernarfon sits on the coast, a fifteen-minute drive from your front door – its Unesco-recognised castle is well worth exploring. After a long day of adventures, this cosy cottage is the perfect spot to return to. Dine outside at the south-facing picnic table in the summer months. On chilly nights rustle up warming Welsh fare in the dine-in kitchen before settling down in front of the flame-effect stove, set beautifully in exposed stonework – utter bliss.
