An eclectic, colourful apartment overlooking Whitby harbour, this place is a great, family-size base in the heart of the town. With plenty going on around it, you'll be able to stroll to the beach, the abbey and the town's excellent shops and restaurants in just minutes – which could be perfect if you're visiting without a car. A period building with an enviable location on the river, it's been smartly modernised to provide a bright and comfortable place to stay. The open-plan living space is roomy and boasts big windows and French doors – with a private balcony where you can sip your morning coffee as the fishing boats busy themselves for the day. There's a contemporary kitchen with everything you'll need to cook at home, but don't forget the fish and chips around here are legendary. The bedrooms, in particular, are awash in colourful throws and furniture sourced from Thailand and Bali, making for a stay you won't forget in a hurry.
