Beautifully set among the backdrop of Arkengarthdale in the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this converted barn is ideal for those who are wanting to explore the picture-perfect landscape. Begin your days with breakfast in the dining room, accompanied by expansive views of the surrounding countryside and its wildlife. In the lounge, you’ll be welcomed by a wood-burning stove, perfect for cooler days, especially after you’ve been out walking the trails. And although the home has been brought up-to-date, it retains many of its original features, creating a place that feels authentic and wonderfully cosy. Best of all, the local pub is just a five-minute walk away and is well-known for its excellent regionally sourced grub. If you head down for a swift one in the evening, however, be sure to take a torch– unless you’re willing to let the moon guide your return. Hop in the car and wind through the Dales – Barnard Castle, the market town of Hawes and the pretty village Askrigg are well-worth exploring and are all within a forty-minute drive.
