Looking for all the world like a bungalow from the front, this home in the lovely seaside village of Saundersfoot has a little surprise. Set backing onto a slope down the hill – with impressive views across from the rear – the living space is on this street-level floor, while the bedrooms are downstairs. Smart and modern, but designed in keeping with traditional stone cottages, it's comfortable and spacious – with enough room for a group or family. The sliding doors in the living room look out over the village and the home has a patio for alfresco meals. In the morning, after your leisurely breakfast, head down to the long stretch of sand at Saundersfoot beach – a ten-minute walk away. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can be picked up close to the home and followed through woodland all the way to the pretty harbour town of Tenby. If the cook among you fancies a night off, it's a quick stroll to cafes and restaurants (takeaway fish and chips by the sea is a must).
