Set in the middle of Ashdown Forest (a conservation area at the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), welcome to a secluded retreat that's a haven of peace and tranquillity. This 6,500 acre stretch of heathland is bursting with wildlife, which you'll notice when you open your window and hear the birdsong. Widely known as the home of Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh, the forest is also full of picturesque walking trails for you to explore with your faithful dog. The home sits in a romantic woodland garden, shared with another house whose owner (a renowned wine critic) hosts fabulous wine tastings throughout the year. The location is very secluded, but there's a traditional country pub a few minutes' drive away, where you'll find excellent food and a roaring fire. For a complete change of scenery, head to the coast and explore The Lanes before sitting down to enjoy fish and chips on the pebble beach overlooking the iconic pier.
