If your family is feeling the call of the ocean, then this apartment in Swanage is the ideal base for holiday at the seaside. You can look out across the rooftops from the living room toward the deep blue beyond – if you’re lucky you might catch a blazing sunset over water. If you’d like to get a bit closer, gather up your buckets and spades and you can be happily building sandcastles on the beach within minutes of closing the front door. Nearby, Durlston Country Park is a wonderful day out where you can go rock climbing, take a nature walk, visit Durlston Castle and even visit the astronomy centre. And no visit to Dorset is complete without taking a walk along the nearby Jurassic Coast, with its dramatic landscapes and plunging cliffs – you can even hunt for fossils. After all that action, the kitchen has everything you need to feed hungry friends and family, but it would be criminal to leave the town without trying the catch of the day at one of the nearby seafood restaurants.

About The Isle of Purbeck

Rather confusingly, the Isle of Purbeck isn’t an island. Instead, it’s a peninsula of around sixty square miles that points out of Dorset into the English Channel and surrounded by water on three sides.
