If you want to sample the very best that Devon has to offer, then this home in Croyde is an excellent base for exploring. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, it welcomes up to six guests, plus a furry friend – just make sure they're not put in charge of the barbecue. We'd recommend up a tasty feast and sitting out on the patio as you plan the days ahead. The nearby beach is beloved by frothing surfers, who come to enjoy its frequently excellent surf (though there can be long flat spells over the summer). However, the stretch of golden sand is also ideal for paddling, picnicking and – if you're lucky with the weather – sunbathing. Hiking along the dramatic coastline is a particular highlight, or you can breathe in the sea air as you canter along the vast stretch of Saunton Sands on horseback, just around the headland. You can't leave Devon without trying the famous cream tea, and you'll find plenty of coffee shops offering the local delight in the village. Then, when the evening rolls around, you get cosy playing board games in the lounge or visit one of the traditional inns for a pint or two.
