On a quiet, pedestrianized lane, this cottage is set off the colourful streets of Appledore. The quay is just a steps from the front door and from there you can look out across the Torridge Estuary, the beach and water-sports centre over the water at Instow. The bustling shops, art galleries and cafes of this historic fishing village are right on your doorstep too. Inside, there's a cosy wood burner for the winter months and at the back is a lovely courtyard for eating outside in the summer. It's a short drive to the surfing beaches of Westward Ho! and Saunton Sands, or to the market town of Barnstaple. Grab your walking boots and hike across the coastal footpaths towards Hartland and Bude.
