This former barn has been beautifully restored, keeping the farm-house touches you’d expect in the countryside. The timber A-frame skeleton of the building remains exposed in the long, open-plan living area. Skylights bathe the kitchen in natural light during the day and stringed fairy lights add a bit of magic in the evening. A huge island provides both a country-style breakfast bar and plenty of prep space. There’s a separate pantry room to store all those goodies from the local farm shop. The master bedroom has an emperor bed, and hessian sacks serve as a thoughtful object d’art, rather than a makeshift pillowcase. Outside, a vast courtyard dotted with sun loungers and pot plants is the perfect spot for a morning coffee in the sun. It’s a few miles to the beach-hut lined sands and cafés of Wells-next-the-Sea and there’s a village pub within easy walking distance. A bike rental shop is just down the lane if you fancy exploring the Norfolk Coast AONB on two wheels.
