This historic garden cottage in Snape is perfect for a solo trip or a couple’s romantic getaway in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. The studio sits on the land of the Old Mill, which dates back to 1797. It was the famous Suffolk composer Benjamin Britten who converted the cottage into his studio in 1937 and composed some of his greatest operas. Now a fresh, modernised space, the studio has retained plenty of its charm as well as a private lawn with lovely green views. Well-laid out with a full kitchen, dining area and a cosy sleeping and living space, you’ll have all you need to relax and unwind before and after exploring the local surroundings. Set less than a mile from the renowned Snape Maltings complex, art and culture enthusiasts can enjoy fine dining, shops, art galleries and a diverse programme of music and dance at the concert hall. Lovers of the outdoors can take advantage of the many countryside walks and cycle paths as well as boat trips down the river Alde, and it’s just a short drive to the seaside town of Aldeburgh with its wide stretch of sandy beach and plenty of art and antique shops to... discover.
