Set in the pretty village of Reydon, this cheery family home is a great base for exploring the picturesque Suffolk Coast. Separated by a narrow stretch of water called Buss Creek, you’re just a scenic twenty-walk from the popular neighbouring town of Southwold, and only ten minutes from a footpath that leads to the sandy seafront. This light-filled contemporary space is ideal for a group getaway with its spacious, open-plan ground floor that serves as the perfect hub for family gatherings at any season. Wide bi-fold doors open up to the large garden so meals can be enjoyed around the table, inside or out, and the well-kept lawn is perfect for the little ones to run on. Evenings-in come highly recommended as you can cosy up by the wood-burning stove with a game or your favourite TV series before retiring to one of the beautiful bedrooms adorned with some of the owner’s original artwork. The village itself only has two shops but there are plenty of scenic walks and cycle routes to enjoy, and the Reydon Woods Nature Reserve is a must-see with its stunning display of bluebells in the spring.

The pier, with its traditional pavilion, might look like any other late-Victorian pier from the outside, but it’s a must-visit in this seaside town. What makes Southwold Pier different is its arcade of humorous, quirky, coin-operated machines. Created by the inventor Tim Hunkin, they feature a range of eccentric – and...
