Set on a lush piece of private land just outside of Chelsworth, this jaw-dropping barn conversion is truly a sight to be seen. The village is one of England’s oldest settlements and this remarkable home uniquely combines its historic setting with innovative and inspiring contemporary design. Vestiges of the building's old life as a Napoleonic munition store are most evident in the vast, cathedral-like main room which houses a magnificent dining area, an original stainless-steel kitchen that’s straight out of a chef’s dream and a stylish corner living space all set beneath the double-height roof with floor-to-apex windows overlooking the scenic countryside and starry sky. The airy bedrooms are equally as unique and the air-clad pod bedroom in particular is a guest favorite with its glass wall and circular jacuzzi bath. In the summer, lunch can be cooked on the barbecue and the outdoor fire pit is the most memorable spot for stargazing at sundown. Despite the rural setting, the local pub and restaurant, The Peacock Inn, is only a short stroll away, or hop in the car for a day trip to discover nearby Stowmarket and its charming antique shops.
