Set on the side of the River Camel valley, it offers plenty of sunshine and fishing opportunities to boot. It’s equally suitable for winter hibernation, too – the wood-burning fireplace, sink-in sofas and underfloor heating keep everything toasty on cold nights. Check out the surrounding villages for friendly gastropubs if you’re not in the mood to cook, though the kitchen comes fully equipped for delicious family-favourite meals. Build up an appetite with a yomp through the wilds of Bodmin Moor, jump on your bicycle and take to the Camel Trail right outside your doorstep or take the thirty-minute drive to Polzeath Beach for an afternoon spent frolicking on the expanse of golden sand.
