With views over Newlyn Harbour and across the Cornish coast, this historic home feels like stepping back in time. Embrace the mariner lifestyle by watching the day boats leave from the big bay windows or curling up by one of the log burners after a bracing dip in the sea. Alongside vintage pieces such as grandfather clocks and oil paintings, the home is equipped with all the mod cons you'd expect. Perfect for family get-togethers, there are two living rooms, both with comfy sofas and chairs, so there'll be no squabbling over the remote. On clear days, sip wine on the patio, which has views as far as St Michael's Mount, or if the weather isn't playing ball, treat yourself to a soak in the freestanding tub. The home is blessed with an excellent location for exploring this popular corner of the country – Mousehole and Penzance are reasonable strolls away, and you won't find the catch of the day much fresher than in the village's own restaurants. Just under twenty minutes in the car will see you arrive at Land's End, Britain's most south-westerly point and a famous landmark.
