And you won’t have far to go when it's time to hit the surf – Croyde Beach is just a five-minute stroll away. While away the days lounging and building sandcastles on the sandy shorelines, or up the ante with a seafront yoga class, surf lesson, or horse-riding. When it’s time for a change of pace, head into Croyde Village (ten minutes on foot). With open-air markets throughout the week and a playground that kids will love, there’s something for everyone here, including a swathe of pubs and restaurants for when thoughts turn to food. Just be sure to make it back home before the sun sets – the shared lawned garden and south-facing terrace is ‘the spot’ to watch the sun dip behind the rural Downend hills.
