The Suffolk Coast and Heaths is one of only forty-six areas given the title ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. And when your home is located in the award-winning region itself, it’s easy to see why. This cottage is one of six converted barns dotted around a central courtyard in the lush, Suffolk countryside. The farmyard sounds may be gone (although there’s still a working livery onsite), but the rural charm remains. While the home is kitted out for 21st-century living, we love the original features of the former barn – exposed brickwork and thick timber beams remind you of its rustic roots. The livestock certainly must have lived in style, as you’ll find a spacious open-plan living area with understated elegance. Neutral tones create a calming vibe, but another relaxed spot is the private patio where you can sip your morning Earl Grey. Take a wander out into the fields, where you’ll find uninterrupted views across acres of farmland towards Tunstall Forest. The village of Iken is a thirteen-minute stroll from home, or hop in the car for the same amount of time to reach Aldeburgh – grab a portion of fish and chips and make the most of its... shingle beach.

About Aldeburgh
When the sun sets on Aldeburgh, the pastel-coloured houses that line the shore seem to glow and the pebbled beach takes on a rainbow hue. Here, the buildings come right up to the beach, so you just need to hop over the coastal wall to reach the sea.
