Fantasy becomes reality as you step into this awe-inspiring Venetian apartment set a fifteen-minute walk from the Piazza San Marco. Thanks to an impressive, intricate restoration by an English Classical architect, this 17th century home – once part of a palace owned by the notable Grimani family – whisks you away to an era of masquerade balls and glamorous gondola rides. Historic features and hand-selected antiques fill the rooms; everyday activities are tinged with Baroque romance, whether it’s waking up between the sheets of a grand four-poster bed, dining beneath the Murano crystal chandelier or putting the finishing touches to your outfit in front of a gilt mirror. With the original music room transformed into a luxurious main salon, it’s the ideal setting for intimate evenings sipping wine beneath delicate frescos and admiring views of the Grand Canal from the private balcony. Although the space is entirely period in appearance, modern comforts are cleverly concealed throughout. We particularly loved the beautiful marble bathrooms with rain showers – treat yourself to a pamper session after long days shopping along the famous Via XXII Marzo, situated just ten minutes from home.

About San Marco

San Marco is probably the most well-known of Venice’s main districts, and the most popular among tourists. It’s packed with monuments – it has spectacular palaces and churches, and consistently beautiful Gothic and Renaissance architecture. The central square is, unsurprisingly, an important tourist hub. A lot of the luxury hotels are around here, so it’s not necessarily the place to find authentic, family-run restaurants or cafes. This area’s known for...
