Cornwall is calling, and if you'd like to soak up the atmosphere without staying out in the sticks, a home in one of the county's coastal towns is on the cards. And popular Padstow has to be at the top of many wish lists. This charming little cottage couldn't be closer to the heart of the town, just yards from the iconic harbour with its ice cream shops, art galleries and friendly pubs. Nods to the seaside are sprinkled through the home and its simple interiors are smart and comfortable. There's a good size kitchen with a dining space so you can cook at home, but as the area is famous as a foodie hotspot you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. Or just grab some local fish and chips, and eat them with your feet dangling over the harbour wall. There are boat trips to choose from, and the sandy beach is just a short walk away. Or jump aboard the little foot ferry and visit the long beaches and trendy eateries of Rock on the other side of the Camel estuary.
