On the outskirts of Lucca, hidden in the Tuscan hills, this villa is the perfect place for a tranquil break with family or friends. The main villa dates back to the 18th century but has been renovated to accommodate modern amenities, without losing its historic charm. Original wooden beams are present in each room and there are plenty of places to unwind, whether you want to curl up in front of the fireplace or settle down in the lounge set outside. We bet you'll spend most of your time in the gardens, swimming in the pool or just sunbathing while admiring the views over the surrounding countryside. The adjoining building makes this home ideal for two sets of families, though both buildings share the gardens where you can gather during the day. It's just a 30-minute drive into historic Lucca, making it a perfect day trip. Wander the medieval city walls and explore the elegant squares, making sure to stock up on local produce from a market. Back at your villa, set the table outside for an Italian feast, and settle back with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the hills.
