Set among rolling hills, a thirty-five-minute drive to the historic city of Lucca and twenty minutes to the alluring Viareggio coastline, this exceptional villa gazes out over the distant mountains. French doors flanked by green shutters and wide archways let the sunlight flood into every room, gently warming the pale terracotta-hued tiles. Farm life is not forgotten in this restoration – a country-style kitchen complete with rooster motif and copper pots invites you to spend an evening tending to traditional Tuscan cuisine, while beamed ceilings and a healthy dose of wood and wicker furniture ensure the natural world never feels far away. Our favourite spot is the rustic-chic terrace, with its impressive dining and chill-out areas setting the tone for the postcard-perfect garden. Out on the lawns, under ancient trees, lively mealtimes take on a movie-like quality, while the glittering turquoise pool is pure Hollywood glamour.
