We love the mix of old and new in this charming country house on the outskirts of Mimizan. Glass panels sit above beamed ceilings, skylights have been added to the slanted roof, and French doors flood the open living space with sunshine. Bedrooms are strikingly modern, the attic room paying homage to the ocean with a monochrome beach print and knotted lamp stands, while the master's sliding doors open up to a large en-suite with a huge rainfall shower. On cooler days, the feature fireplace is the perfect place to warm up – though bright sunflower prints give the impression of an endless summer. The outdoor pool and sun loungers are on hand for those hot, balmy days and the large gardens hide several seating spots, including a patio with outdoor kitchen and barbecue for whipping up something delicious.
