This beachside abode on the longest stretch of sand in Europe - the 200km long Côte d’Argent – may as well be the Tardis. Behind the slatted wooden facade hides the kind of features you'd expect from a much larger home, like double rainfall showers and a whole other wing connected to the main part of the house by a glass-covered walkway. Here you’ll find white rooms splashed with cool coastal blues, a games room complete with table football and a sun-trap terrace with a soft sand floor tucked away at the back. In the main living and dining area, the vibe is cosy beach-chic. A high wooden ceiling, raffia accents and splashes of sunshine yellow bring warmth to the cool monochrome interiors, while the induction hob and American-style fridge freezer makes self-catering a breeze. Outside in the courtyard, it’s time for barbecues by the olive tree after a long day of sea, surf and sun at Mimizan beach, just down the road. For a break from the beach, head inland for woodland walks through the pines of the Landes forest, or drive one hour south to the trendy seaside resort of Hossegor for world-class waves and a vibrant dining scene.
