Better known for its Atlantic rollers and camping sites, this stretch of the French coast is all about laid-back summer living. On the outskirts of Bidart, this home epitomises that with its clean lines and minimalist style. Using white walls, yellow sofas, and geometric light fittings, the apartment feels modern and new. Chill out on one of the Eames rocking chairs, soak up some rays on the deckchairs or watch what's cooking in the kitchen from the breakfast bar. A small balcony looks out over hills and other homes and is our favourite spot for assessing the conditions for the day's adventures. If surfing is on the cards, it's less than a 10-minute drive to Bidart beach, while Biarritz and its glamorous facade is just 15. Not in the mood for that much activity? We suggest padding down to the communal pool for lengths, before heading back to the terrace for a glass of something icy.
